UK - Scotland - Glencoe - Late sun on Scottish mountain tops
Late orange sunlight plays across upper slopes of Sgorr Dhearg, a mountain in Glencoe, Scotland. With low clouds swirling around the peaks of these Scottish Highland hills, a shaft of sunlight has suddenly illuminated a lower ridge of the 1,024 feet peak and shows it to be surprisingly fertile, rather than barren rock. Grasses and native heathers grow in abundance to make it another popular mountain for walkers and more adventurous climbers. Beyond is a different story where dark tones reveal more sinister weather moving in. The climate in this region of northern Britain is unpredictably changeable and many rescues by RAF helicopter is often required to save those caught high and unprepared
