United Kingdom. A seaside town founded on its fishing industry which dates back to pre-Roman times. During its heyday there were over 100 boats operating out of the busy harbour and employing over 1000 people in the town. In 2016 there are 7 working boats left, employing just over 20 people. The boats are owned and managed by Folkestone families who have a strong fishing heritage.
