Celebrating St Knut Lavard

Members of an order celebrating the life and death of St Knut Lavard in Landskrona, Sweden 20th of August 2016. Drinks are handed out for a toast in the court yeard of Landskronas castle. Saint Knut Lavard was killed in 1131 and celebrations were banned in 1415 across the Danish kingdom which covered Denmark and big parts of Sweden. The celebrations were allowed to continue in 1944 and several times a year people gather in Landskrona to comemorate St Knut lavard.
