T5 alone has the capacity to serve around 30 million passengers a year and was completed in 2008 at a cost of £4.3bn. The system was designed by an integrated team from the airport operator BAA, BA and Vanderlande Industries of the Netherlands, and handles both intra-terminal and inter-terminal luggage. A passing aircraft taxies past on the left and the other two planes have wingtip devices increase the lift generated at the wingtip which smooth the airflow across the upper wing near the tip and reduce the lift-induced drag caused by wingtip vortices. The delta-winged jet was first flown in 1969, entering commercial service in 1976 for 27 years until the disastrous in Paris ended its viability. Aérospatiale-BAC Concorde was a turbojet-powered supersonic passenger airliner or supersonic transport (SST). With a program cost of £1.3 billion and a unit cost of £23 million in 1977.

British Airways passengers faced baggage disruption after a 6 year construction project that has seen the British public divided over the role of commercial aviation. At a cost of £4.3bn, the project was Britain's longest planning inquiry which lasted four years but finally employing a total of 60,000 workers. 30,000 square metres of glass in walls; 80,000 tonnes of steel were used - 17,000 in the roof alone; 5,000 doors, 800 toilets, 20,000 power sockets and 1,700 miles of cable; 60 new aircraft stands, including 14 for the Airbus A380; 13km of tunnels were bored for the state-of-the-art baggage handling to handle 12,000 bags per hour.

  • Jock McFadyen, RA. A contemporary British painter in his studio in London, United Kingdom. As a teenager McFadyen attended Saturday morning classes at Glasgow School of Art, then moved to England in 1966 at the age of fifteen and was educated at Chelsea School of Art, gaining his BA in 1976 and MA in 1977. He taught one day a week at the Slade School of Art between 1980 and 2005. McFadyen is an artist who is sometimes associated with figurative painting of the 1980s. This has often irked McFadyen who, by the advent of that decade, had jettisoned the schematic narrative painting with which he made his name in the late 1970s. McFadyen currently lives and works in East London, Edinburgh and France. He has had over 40 solo exhibitions and his work is held by 30 public collections as well as private and corporate collections. In 2012 he was elected a Royal Academician of the Royal Academy of Arts.

They carefully cultivate bamboo forests allowing them to grow, but not flower and die, as this would spell disaster for their very own existence. They also tend to their rice fields and live stock for what is mostly a subsistence economy. The Indian constitution recognizes over 500 indigenous tribes, which account for 8.5% of the total population

  • Concert-goers on the balcony of the a 2,900 seat concert, dance and talks venue the South Bank's Royal Festival Hall, take an opportunity to see fine views of the River Thames and the rest of London's panorama before returning inside for their cultural event. From the top of this 1950s building (constructed for the fair of 1952) they can also look across to the giant ferris wheel called the BA London Eye whose every rotation takes about 30 minutes, meaning the capsules that hold a family or group of fare-paying passengers in pods travel at a stately 26cm per second, or 0.9km (0.6 miles) per hour. Since opening in 2000, an average of 3.75 million visitors have experienced London’s most-visited attraction each year while the modernist Festival Hall, which was built as part of the post-war Festival of Britain of 1951 though altered in 1964.

  • Seen from an aerial walkway, we look down on a lady airline passengers struggling to separate two trolleys in the baggage reclaim hall in the arrivals of Heathrow Airport's Terminal 5. 50-70,000 pieces of British Airways baggage a day travel through 11 miles of conveyor belts which were installed in a 5-storey underground hall beneath the 400m (a quarter of a mile) length of Terminal 5. T5 alone has the capacity to serve around 30 million passengers a year and was completed in 2008 at a cost of £4.3bn. The system was designed by an integrated team from the airport operator BAA, BA and Vanderlande Industries of the Netherlands, and handles both intra-terminal and inter-terminal luggage.   • Smoke has been discovered in the basement of a shop in Market Street, Newport town centre, south Wales. We look down into a dark hole where two fire fighters – one of which is a senior officer, with two stripes on his helmet - have gone down a ladder to find the source of the smoke while wearing breathing apparatus (BA) as a precaution.  While looking up they discuss the possibilities of a seat of fire elsewhere so they talk to their colleagues who crouch over the open floor of the business who dialled 999 for the fire brigade to attend this incident. It is 1984 and the firemens’ equipment looks dated, during an era when uniform material was not of a high fire-retardant specification and nor were their helmets which went through important design changes.

  • Black Lives Matter supporters calling for a shut down of detention centres at the Peoples Assembly demonstration: No More Austerity - No To Racism - Tories Must Go, on Saturday July 16th in London, United Kingdom. Tens of thousands of people gathered to protest in a march through the capital protesting against the Conservative Party cuts. Almost 150 Councillors from across the country have signed a letter criticising the Government for funding cuts and and will be joining those marching in London. The letter followed the recent budget in which the Government laid out plans to cut support for disabled people while offering tax breaks for big business and the wealthy.
