  • Make-up and hair stylists ready a model before the couturier Margaret Howell's Fashion Week show in the company's retail flagship and design studio at 34 Wigmore Street, Central London England. The young beauty has her lips dabbed with tissue to stop her lipstick from smudging. The hairdresser pins her braided hair in a whirl on her head and in the background, other freelance stylists busy themselves in the frantically busy room to get the show on the road. • Mannequins of women show a sexist stereotype of their gender, outside a clothing business in south London. High street styles and fashions are on display here, showing a sexist representation of how women might appear. As proof of how the fashion and retail industries see the perfect woman's form, we see a skinnier look, the proportions of a curvy rather than a rounded female shape. Womens' groups however see this as unrepresentative, undermining how women see themselves portrayed accurately in the shop window and therefore in everyday life.

  • On the very last day of British rule over its Hong Kong colony, we see an elegant but headless life-size clothing mannequin seated on a chair on the shop floor of Chinese clothing brand Shanghai Tang. In the brand's flagship store, the last hours tick away before the transfer of sovereignty of Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to the Peoples Republic of China (PRC), often referred to as "The Handover" on June 30, 1997. Midnight of that day signified the end of British rule and the transfer of legal and financial authority back to China. Shanghai Tang is an international clothing chain company, founded in 1994 by Hong Kong businessman David Tang Wing Cheung. This was the original store in Hong Kong's Pedder Street (in Central) providing the lead for 24 outlets worldwide.

Lisbon's Bairro Alto quarter is located above Baixa and developed in the 16th Century. Suffering very little damage in the earthquake of 1755, it remains the area of most character and renowned for its residential and working quarter for craftsmen and shopkeepers. The 50kg carcasses have been swimming across the Indian Ocean non-stop since birth and just line-caught by freelance boat crews who share profits for only high-quality fish that passes stringent health tests. The tuna has been in ice since being landed to keep a low-temperature body core so the workers cut out the prime flesh as quickly as possible before boxing the resulting chunks of steak for export by air to Europe and in particular for customers such as UK's Sainsbury's supermarket. The Sri Lankan workers are ex-fishermen and widowers, having lost their families during the Tsunami. Using extremely sharp knives, they skillfully remove valuable meat and throw away the rest.
