Around the lake there are ten famous Taoist and Buddhist temples and several formal royal mansions and gardens. The borders of the lakes are surrounded by large trees making Shichahai a famous scenic spot. In the summer tourists can rent boats to peddle on the lakes. In 1992 the municipal government of Beijing declared the district a Historical and Cultural Scenic District.

Zhongguancun is very well known in China, and is often referred to as China's Silicon Valley. This is Beijing's computer district with numerous tech companies offices situated here amongst the many malls which sell electronics and electrons equipment of all kinds. The tech park started as a small office where two decades ago some students from a nearby university decided that computer equipment may be a thing of the future so set up a small company. It is located in south east Beijing, China near the Panjiayuan Bridge in Chaoyang District. It covers an area of 48,500 square meters, of which 26,000 square meters are for business. There are over 4,000 stalls in the market, with nearly 10,000 dealers and sellers. Much of that on sale are trinkets and stones, although there are some genuine antiques.

  • Central Hall. The National Museum of China flanks the eastern side of Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China. The mission of the museum is to educate about the arts and history of China. It is directed by the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China.
