The giant bear, which is made of replica and reclaimed ship parts as well as recycled materials, carries in her fur the names of over 3 and half million people who have joined the global movement to protect the Arctic from industrial exploitation. This parade  was part of a global day of action to protect the Arctic withtens of thousands of people taking to the streets in over 70 cities worldwide.

The crowd greet  Aurora, the double-decker-bus-size polar bear puppet specially commissioned by Greenpeace to lead an Arctic-inspired street parade to the London HQ of oil giant Shell on 15 September. The three-tonne marionette bear is operated from the inside by a team of 15 puppeteers,  and  hauled on ropes by 30 volunteers along a route from Victoria Gardens to Shell's HQ at Waterloo. The giant bear, which is made of replica and reclaimed ship parts as well as recycled materials, carries in her fur the names of over 3 and half million people who have joined the global movement to protect the Arctic from industrial exploitation. This parade  was part of a global day of action to protect the Arctic withtens of thousands of people taking to the streets in over 70 cities worldwide. A protester holds a placard saying 'Leave the Arctic Alone'.

Shell is one of the companies drilling and the march through London ended up outside Shell London HQ to draw attention to their oil business in the arctic. Aurora, the biggest polar bear in the world represents all endangered species in arctic.

  • The climate activist group BP or not BP target the Arctic Culture and Climate exhibition in the British Museum on 21st of October 2020 in London, United Kingdom. The exhibition opens to the public 22nd of October and is sponsored by the American bank Citi. The bank is, according to the group, the financial backer of many oil pipeline and drilling projects opposed by indigenous communities in the Arctic. The group sees the protest as a show of solidarity with Indiginous Arctic communities who live on land under immidiate threat from oil drilling and climate change.
