  • Shop owner writes a reduced price on an upright mirror with bright furniture on sale in a London street.A shop owner writes a reduced price on an upright mirror with bright furniture on sale in a London street. Writing on the glass with a marker pen the man has decided to tell us the original price of this item was #250 and he writes down a new, reduced value of #170, making us believe there are massive savings to be had on this home furnishing. Behind him is a garish pink sofa chair that was made in Egypt and imported to the UK capital where it and other pieces sit in bright sunshine, their colours looking tacky and cheap.

  • On a bright summer afternoon, a young spoiled girl shows-off by riding her favourite motorized Barbie trike along The Parade, the main promenade in the north Welsh seaside town of Llandudno, Wales. Wearing a bright pink helmet and travelling on the matching pink toy bike, she trundles along with the low-tide coast over her left shoulder. Barbie is a best-selling fashion doll launched in 1959 and produced by Mattel, Inc. The brand's merchandising reaches far and wide to countries and cultures around the world and this little girl seems to be the happiest on the beach, enjoying a generous present perhaps from a parent. She is the exact age that Mattel are targeting when they market these toys to accompany their dolls and accessories though the industry has come under fire for its controversial stereotyping of gender and subtle sexuality.

  • A man wearing a bright Adidas tracksuit-type of sports clothing walks and talks passing the pillars of the Bank of England. On an otherwise dull street minus strong colour elsewhere, the man wears the bright blue from head top foot including the 3 stripes of the sports clothing brand known throughout the world. Adolf Dassler, following the split of Gebrüder Dassler Schuhfabrik between him and his older brother Rudolf, founded Adidas in 1948. Rudolf later established Puma, which was the early rival of Adidas. Registered in 1949, Adidas is currently based in Herzogenaurach, Germany, along with Puma. The company's clothing and shoe designs typically feature three parallel bars, and the same motif is incorporated into Adidas's current official logo. The "Three Stripes" were bought from the Finnish sport company Karhu Sports in 1951.

Made up of more than 16,000 English Yews, Longleat’s spectacular hedge maze - the world's largest - was first laid out in 1975 by the designer Greg Bright. The Maze covers an area of around 1.48 acres (0.6 hectares) with a total pathway length of 1.69 miles (2.72 kilometres). Unlike most other conventional mazes it’s actually three-dimensional.
