  • From 1,100m away, a shooting target at a firing range belonging to the Land Warfare Centre, has been punctured by bullet holes from a new British-made Long Range L115A3 sniper rifle on Salisbury Plain, Warminster, England. Sniping means concealment, observation and assassination, a strategy the British are using more against the Taliban in Afghanistan. Swiss Lapua .338 inch rounds (8.59mm) travel at sub-sonic speeds of 936 metres/sec, finding its target accurately up to 1km. The rifle weighs 6.8kg with telescopic image-intensified scopes to 25x life size vision, made by Schmidt & Bender. Front-mounted ‘suppressor’ minimises the signature normally compromising snipers’ position. At £23,000 each, a £4 million contract has been awarded to Accuracy International, to provide the Army, Royal Marines and RAF. The army say it's their best ever sniper rifle.

  • Glastonbury Festival 2014.<br />
Setting up the Love Bullet venue in the corridors of corporate hell in Shangri La<br />
Shangri-La is the after-hours epicentre of Glastonbury Festival, a largely indescribable, ephemeral and interactive world that really comes to life after dark.<br />
Unique among festivals, Shangri-la has a central narrative that pins it all together,  it evolves year by year (a bit like Star Wars). All contributors respond to this narrative, and add to it via their installations, venues and performances. When it all comes together on site the audience have a wholly immersive world to become lost in with a myriad of places to explore.<br />
Exploration and discovery is an important aspect of  Shangri-la. A maze of covered alleys is riddled with nano-venues, performers and installations, artworks and hidden doors.<br />
 In 2014 Shangri-La explored the way we create heavens and hells for ourselves.

  • The familly of Murat Balia who was killed ina blood feud with the familly of Amathj Mehmed. His nephew, Myftar Balia, is lying in the bed with the wounds from 8 bullets. He is surrounded by his familly and his son Edward (holding the lamp) aged 17 is bound by the Kanune (code of behavior going back hundreds of years) to defend his family's honour.<br />
<br />
The Kanun included an elaborate legal code trying to regulate blood feud (gjakmarrya) – a system of reciprocal ”honour killings”. According to the Code, if a man is deeply affronted, his family has the right to kill the person who has insulted him. However, by doing this, the family will become a target for revenge on the part of the victim’s family. The victim’s closest male relative is obliged to kill the murderer of his family member. The pattern of reprisal killings thus formed has been passed on for generations of families and has been manifested up to the present day in Albania “Blood is never lost”, states the Kanun.
