  • Blue safety netting from a Westminster construction site, blows in the breeze in central London. Hanging from a point at the top of the building, we see the texture of the netting material, its holes and folds, creases and close stitching that screens off the work being carried out behind on site. Light shines across the blue hues making the industrial place look artistic and with a modernist beauty.

  • A beautifully simple white cotton shirt by couturier Margaret Howell is displayed in the company's workshop factory in Edmonton, North London. England. Ironed without creases, the garment has been set on a dress making tailor's dummy made by Kennett and Lindsell of Romford Essex. The pure white shirt is seen against a similarly-toned white wall and lit by daylight. Howell is one of Britain's more understated of couture brands alongside more flamboyant personalities. Howell admits to being "inspired by the methods by which something is made .. enjoying the tactile quality of natural fabrics such as tweeds, linen and cotton in a relaxed, natural and lived in look."

  • Peeled and fallen billboard sheets lying on a street in south London. With the false perspective of creased or crumpled paper, we see the disjointed, disturbed detail of this advertising campaign that features a girl and boy playing a garden tennis game. The billboard sheets have become detached from its background and so lies on the ground with the bare space left and the models left to look peculiar and odd.

  • Looking eastwards through 100 year old ash trees, a local game of cricket is played on the green grass of Ruskin Park, Lambeth overlooking the city. As the bowler comes in to deliver a fast ball to the waiting batsman, we see acrossto period Edwardian homes on the 1908 Ruskin Park. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of 11 players on a field, at the centre of which is a rectangular 22-yard long pitch. First played in southern England in the 16th century, one team bats, trying to score as many runs as possible while the other team bowls and fields, trying to dismiss the batsmen and thus limit the runs scored by the batting team. A run is scored by the striking batsman hitting the ball with his bat, running to the opposite end of the pitch and touching the crease there without being dismissed.
