They mix their own colours,dye the wool,wash it, weave it according to required designs and export them abroad.The licensee factories fall under three different categories, set by GWF;A for not very likely to hire children, B for more likely and therefor require more often inspections and C for likely to hire children and there for need constant supervision with regular visits any time of the day by GWF inspectors. China's main export-oriented private manufacturing centers in the Yangtze and Pearl River Delta are facing a labour shortage after the Lunar New Year holidays, as an increasing number of migrant workers in  are staying put in the countryside due to rapid urbanization and economic development in China's interior, while those who continue to work in the traditional industrial belts such as Yiwu are demanding and receiving more wages and benefits.

  • Ashal Carpet Factory does not employ children and is a licensee of the GoodWeave Foundation and their carpets carry the GWF label. It is a category C however and GWF inspectors come by regularly to check for child workers. Some women have no other alternative than to bring their children to work which is something GWF try to address by setting up child crea centres but they they cannot reach all children this way. The Good Weave Foundation is a charity set up in partnership with the Nepalese carpet industry. The aim is to eliminate child labor in all carpet factories in Nepal. Factories which do not employ children can sign up with the charity and become a licensee to the GWF brand and label their carpets with the GWF label which promises any buyers abroad that no children were involved in making the carpets.

  • Many of the men and women working at the factory also live there and their children play around the grounds. Amity Factory does not employ children and is a licensee of the GoodWeave Foundation and their carpets carry the GWF label.The weavers work according to the design,printed on paper hanging above them.
