  • Alongside the A5 highway, an industrial landscape is illuminated in light from roadside street-lighting. Reeds are in the foreground in front of a giant generic warehouse that glows from its own territory. Grass is next to the crash-barrier and faint mist is seen on this cold winter night at the DIRFT warehouse logistics park in Daventry, Northamptonshire England. This 365 acre site off Junction 18 of the M1 motorway is a hub for road, rail and service infrastructure, some 2.3m sq.ft. of distribution and manufacturing floorspace had been constructed by 2004 and occupiers including Tesco’s, Tibbett & Britten plc, Ingram Micro, Royal Mail, the W.H. Malcolm Group, Eddie Stobart Ltd, Wincanton and Exel, have been attracted to this unique logistics location.

  • The still new Canary Wharf tower stands tall in the distance with a foreground of a city in turmoil. A still derelict space occupies the space where large offices will be built in the future. Fences stop trespassers from entering a water-filled hole on wasteland. • BAE System Hawks of the Red Arrows, Britain's RAF aerobatic team and airfield signs landscape. Six Hawk jet aircraft of the elite team, taxi in after another training flight past warning boards that are appropriate for armed jet fighters at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus rather than aerobatic planes. From a low angle we see a wide landscape looking over the taxi-way markings that direct military airplanes. The Red Arrows aircraft are a deep red colour that stand out against the horizon in an identical line. It is a wide expanse of road surface, the yellow centre-lines are for the benefit of pilots who need guidance for parking areas after landing, or leaving towards the departing runway on the southern part of the Cypriot Mediterranean island. With the Red Arrows, the taxiing jets all peel off in unison to and from the parking area and these lines are vital for this technique.

  • Aerial landscape of old Arab Albaicin quarter and surrounding barrios of the Moorish city of Granada. This aerial landscape also shows in the foreground, the old Arab Albaicin quarter and surrounding barrios of Moorish city of Granada. The Albaicin Quarter is the old Moorish quarter across the River Darro from the Alhambra. When the Moors controlled Granada, this area of the city was the most densely populated. The streets are narrow and many of them do not have sidewalks. The houses are not very high and they are very close to each other. Alhambra (in Arabic, Al-Ḥamra) is a palace and fortress complex constructed during the mid 14th century by the Moorish rulers of the Emirate of Granada in Al-Andalus.

  • A dystopian landscape of construction materials and an inspirational view above the city - seen through a wire and netting street fence. Lettering on the hoarding tells us the scene below is inspirational, a capital from a new perspective. But the mess of aggregates and soil, tools and rubble tell a different story: an incongruous landscape of an idealised city and the reality of unfinished work.

  • 2012 Olympic wasteland and PR fantasy on a hoarding near the sports arenas in Stratford, East London. A landscape of utopian harmony and nature is viewed on the construction site board that surrounds a vacant plot a kilometre south of the Olympic Park and stadium site. In the background is a new housing tower block by design and build contractor, Ardmore for Genesis Housing Association, 150 High Street, Stratford, 704 homes, in five new residential blocks, one of which, at over 132 metres, will be one of the highest residential towers in London. This landscape is more dystopian however as the reality of the empty lot is not what is promised by the imagery on the hoarding.

  • A group of country ramblers look across Northwood Hill's landscape below, an wildlife area near Halstow on the Kent Thames estuary marshes, potentially threatened by the future London airport. With the panoramic views beyond, the walkers stop to admire the landscape that could controversially become the site for London's estuary airport, built on reclaimed and marshland on the river Thames, east of the city. Current London mayor Boris Johnson is in faviour of this project to alleviate pressure from other airport hubs, regardless of wildlife (especially a nearby protected bird sanctuary).

  • Street landscape near the Westfield City shopping complex, Stratford. On a new stretch of highway recently finished for those circumnavigating the perimeter of the Olympic park and its nearby shopping centre. The outer barrier of the Olympic Park is 2.5 sq km and circles a huge area of the borough of Stratford in the borough of Newham. The new landscape often looks incongruous to those living on many poor estates, excluded from the events. But this regeneration is the legacy by the government who promise a brighter future for this part of east London.

  • The beautiful landscape of Loch Garry (Scottish Gaelic: Loch Garadhin) Glengarry is seen as a late sun sinks below the mountains of the Scottish Highlands, near Invergarry. In the foreground we see the foliage of trees of Glengarry Forest that hug the Loch (Lake) and the Western hills in the far distance are near Loch Quoich. Glinting off the near-still fresh water's surface, the pools of shadow and highlights of the sun reflect like a mirror while approaching rain clouds lie across the top on the image like a blanket of bad weather coming soon to this peaceful and unspoilt place. Glengarry is one of Scotland's famous landmarks.

  • The Mount Inn at Stanton looking out over the landscape of The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, UK. Popular with both the English themselves and international visitors from all over the world, the area is well known for gentle hillsides ‘wolds’, outstanding countryside, sleepy ancient limestone villages, historic market towns and for being so ‘typically English’ where time has stood still for over 300 years. Throughout the Cotswolds stone features in buildings and stone walls act as a common thread in seamlessly blending the historic towns & villages with their surrounding landscape. One of the most 'quintessentially English' and unspoiled regions of England.
