• Deforestation of pine wood trees on a hillside at Gibbon, in Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Fires on occasion rage through the forest leaving behind burnt and fallen trees which are left to decompose naturally, and to regrow over time. This is how the park is run, leaving nature to take it's natural cause, not intervening with nature.

 • Summerleaze Sea Pool was built in the 1930s when seawater swimming pools were all the rage, Bude, Cornwall, UK. Nestled at the foot of the cliffs, Summerleaze Sea Pool is part man made and part natural rock pool and it cleaned daily by the tide. Until the 1950s and the rise of the heated indoor swimming pool, children learnt to swim outdoors. For those close to the sea, many man-made tidal swimming pools were constructed around Britain’s coastline. Heated by the sun, these tidal pools were often built to keep bathers safe from high and rough seas, which explains why so many of them are clustered in Scotland and around the surfing beaches of Cornwall. Whether they are simple swimming holes made by shoring up natural rock pools or grand lido-like pools complete with lifeguards and tea huts, they are all refreshed by good high tides.

 • Foreign travellers and ex-pats play drinking games at a bar called CJ's in the Chinese economic region of Macau. An unseen person stands over the customer and pours a mixture of apparently lime and an alcoholic drink into the other man’s open mouth. It spills and dribbles down his face but otherwise ends up in his throat for some kind of pleasurable – and expensive – youth experience. On his t-shirt are the words Rage Against the Machine, an anarchic message of rebellion.

 • The Hell dance arena is circle built of black gothic shards and brimmed with raging flames combines the best of The Hub and Club Dada’s epic programming to create the Hell Stage arena.
Shangri-La is the after-hours epicentre of the Glastonbury Festival 2013. The theme for 2013 is Afterlife with the visiters choice between heavan and hell.
Revellers at Shangri-La, have to make their way through a corridor of purgatory, with stalls themed around the seven deadly sins, and the Shangri Hell stage. Glastonbury is the world's biggest greenfield festival with nearly 200,000 visiters camping in the dairy farm of Michael Evis in Somerset, UK.
The first festival was in 1970 and was influenced by hippie ethics and the free festival movement. The festival retains vestiges of this tradition such as the Green Fields area which includes the Green Futures and Healing Field.

 • Looking down into a steep-sided valley, Distant streets and working-class terraced homes are beyond smoking chimneys from a Furnacite coking plant at Abercwmboi. Once known as the worst polluter in Britain it was owned by the National Coal Board (NCB) and sold to the Welsh Development Asoociation (WDA) for £1 Pound though arguments are still raging about how to clear it up and cleanup estimates range from £15-£20 million. The pollution had cruel effects on the local population. It made smokeless coal and locals joked that the plant took the smoke out and dumped it on the Cynon Valley but there was concern about toxic waste dumped in the village after the plant’s closure and some suffered birth defects. Ironically, the plant was closed because of environmental considerations.
