  • Roadworks disruption, passers-by and fashion retail models on construction hoarding in central London. Large images of women adorn the posters on the site screens and they look down on passers-by on London's Oxford Street in the borough of Westminster. Beneath the ladies are men going about their business: Either carrying retail shelving or wheeling a blue suitcase. It is a scene of gender, of sexuality and the urban everyday - amidst continuing roadworks.

  • Worker carries a portrait of a male model, a fixture on its way to another premises in Soho, central London. The panel shows a well-dressed model leaning against a bar, the epitome of health, wealth, good looks and success. He seems to be staring at us while being transported along the street towards a nearby business where the picture is needed to decorate a retail wall. The man continues into a narrow lane beneath a No Entry sign while the model apparently looks on helplessly - as if being kidnapped.

  • A closed DVD rental shop in south London has gone bust, a victim of the UK's economic climate. Around a recession-bled Britain, high-street businesses have been going bust in their thousands. Britain has now endured eight recessions since the Second World War. No two recessions are alike, and that applies to the current slowdown also. It has been caused by a shock to the availability of credit, a massive build up of debt. The number of people out of work currently stands at almost two million. Given the rate at which the economy is deteriorating this could easily be above three million. From a continuing piece of work about windows and urban messages, the picture is from the project of closed business windows: 'Bust - the Art of Recession'.

  • A CCTV security warning and damp stains on a card business window in an East Grinstead street in Sussex, a victim of the UK recession.
