When the two washes meet in the middle they slap together and form dual ripples which carry the flowers away. This huge granite structure was engineered precisely to do this and hidden in plain sight for those that can see.

This symbolism also resonates through the introduction of the two minutes silence on Armistice Day and the interment of the Unknown Warrior.
