It is early evening and we see the blurred people moving about over the picture during a time-exposure of a few seconds. A menu board listing cocktail drinks prices stands on the sidewalk. Candles have been lit in glass jars on table tops. Ghostly, blurred Palm trees sway about in the coastal breeze against the fading sky of early evening. This is a vibrant district of tropical Miami, Florida. The place to hang-out and be noticed. Glowing pinks and blues are vivid in this scene where beautiful people and expensive cars cruise along slowly, each parading bodywork and personality.

  • Vegetarian balti restaurant menu window on Brick Lane in East London, home to many Indian-style curry houses and businesses. A lone diner eats in shadows towards the rear of the restaurant and illustrations of the dishes offered here are on the corner of the business' window. Vegetarian suggestions and prices are also advertised in Brick Lane, a street in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It runs from Swanfield Street in the northern part of Bethnal Green, crosses Bethnal Green Road, passes through Spitalfields and is linked to Whitechapel High Street to the south by the short stretch of Osborn Street. Today, it is the heart of the city's Bangladeshi-Sylheti community and is known to some as Banglatown.

  • Regular customers sit and talk in the Indian Coffee House, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi, India<br />
The Coffee House dates back almost fifty years, first in central Connaught Place, then Japnpath and now at the top of a rather shabby shopping centre. Still run by the Indian Coffee Workers Cooperative Society, it was a regular haunt for politicos in Delhi and It's clientelle is still well read and intellectual.

  • Tourists enjoy food and drink in an outdoor restaurant tent in Florence, Italy. A photo of the restaurant's chef with possibly two other cooks are seen in a window ad that bears the words "Enjoy with Us” - an invitation to come dine with the owners of the pizzeria. Customers are seated under strong lights in this otherwise dark street, enjoying wine and their respective partners' company.

  • The interior of F Cooke's Pie and Mash shop in Broadway Market, Hackney, London..Eel, pie and mash shops are a traditional but dying business. Changing tastes and the scarcity of the eel has meant that the number of shops selling this traditional working class food has declined to just a handful mostly in east London. The shops were originally owned by one or two families with the earliest recorded, Manze's on Tower Bridge Road being the oldest surviving dating from 1908. Generally eels are sold cold and jellied and the meat pie and mash potato covered in a green sauce called liquor.
