  • Cracked glass in the window of a tourist souvenir shop has been sealed over with striped diagonal tape. Taped haphazardly on the pane of glass, the yellow and black stripes give a hint of damage and danger should the glass break further and cut a passer-by. Inside the shop located near Leicester Square, we see mugs with various designs celebrating the Uk and British values including the Union jack and London cityscapes. The stripes make for abstract art.

  • Destined for nearby offices, two workmen deliver a heavy piece of corporate art taped up and covered in a narrow side street in the City of London, the capital's financial district. Each manhandling a corner and sharing the weight of this awkward company asset. Taped up for protection and handled carefully, the men make their way along a narrow medieval street called Tokenhouse Yard. This street dates from Charles I and was where farthing tokens were coined. The City of London is the capital's historic centre first occupied by the Romans then expanded during following centuries until today, it has a resident population of under 10,000 but a daily working population of 311,000.

  • A young man whistles to a tune that he is listening to through headphones. It is 1989 and the Walkman is the toy of choice for the urban young - the first portable music device that helped change the way society took their taped music out and about - and years before the Apple iPod. It worked but one had to press the foam pads into the ears to drown out background city noise plus the cassette tape often snagged and twisted, ruining the product.

  • A street sweeper with contractor Amey brushes round a leaning automatic traffic control bollard in St . Swithins Lane, City of London. The workman wears a high-vis jacket and trousers with a bright red hat and he reaches awkwardly behind the damaged pole that leans at an odd angle, seemingly hit by a vehicle.
