  • Masatsugu Okutani, 41 performs a waterfall purification ceremony at Kiyo-Taki waterfall. Purification is one of the most important aspects of Shinto as well as being at the core of Japanese culture. There are many different ways to purify oneself. Amongst them: The Grand purification ceremony conducted at the end of June and end of December each year. Purification at water fountain before entering any given sanctuary, also purification at waterfalls, rivers or at sea. The concept of purification is completely different to the one considered by western societies. In Japan, to purify means removing ones rationality and maximize ones sensitivity, and the condition of purifying is when one’s sensitivity is maximized. The reason why sensitivity is important is because there is no rationality in nature and one’s sensitivity is the source and the core of vital force. In this sense, when Japanese say purification, there is no link or reference with so-called sin in the Christian sense. Among Japanese culture, this is the core and commonality. For example, Japanese tea ceremony. The objective is to become one with the host and guest which is impossible, but is possible when both could maximize their sensitivities because when it maximized, there is no feeling of individual, no feeling of time.

This remote location is at the end of a 4-5 mile single-track road from a larger road on the Ross of Mull. The famous red phone box at Carsaig was saved by movie fans (you can dial its number +44 (0)1681-704203). In danger of being removed due to lack of use it is now just used by hikers unable to obtain a mobile (cell) phone signal. Fans of the movie rescued the iconic phone kiosk from crumbling. Visited by film buffs, the kiosk now has Historic Scotland list B status because of its part on screen. And during a pilgrimage to celebrate the Powell and Pressburger film’s 65th anniversary, fans noticed that the box was in a poor condition.

As symbols of ancient and modern architecture in a single scene, we see the development of human endeavour over millennia. The City of London is a city and ceremonial county within London. It constituted most of London from its settlement by the Romans in the 1st century AD to the Middle Ages, but the conurbation has since grown far beyond the City's borders. The City is now only a tiny part of the metropolis of London, though it remains a notable part of central London.

  • Walkers make their way towards Gordale Scar, on 12th April 2017, in Malham, in the Yorkshire Dales, England. Gordale Scar is a limestone ravine 1 mile 1.6 km northeast of Malham, North Yorkshire, England.[1] It contains two waterfalls and has overhanging limestone cliffs over 100 metres high. The gorge could have been formed by water from melting glaciers or a cavern collapse. The stream flowing through the scar is Gordale Beck, which on leaving the gorge flows over Janets Foss before joining Malham Beck two miles downstream to form the River Aire. A right of way leads up the gorge, but requires some mild scrambling over tufa at the lower waterfall.
