• Abandoned and derelict premises at the rear of a former garden centre business, due soon for redevelopment. On the ground are the words "Sous les paves, la plage" - in the French language. This roughly translates as 'under the pavement, the beach', a clue to the land's former use as a garden and plant centre followed by a pop-up artists' studio. The property is now vacant, awaiting development for a future library, apartments and small supermarket. Blue panelled fencing borders the premises and faded yellow breeze blocks separate weeds.

 • An unfinished and abandoned construction project in the town of Gogollos Vega, near Granada, Andalucia. All over Spain are building projects like this, left empty and unused, a sig of bad financial investment and land management where empty lots and landscapes have swallowed nature to be replaced by abandoned pavements, roads and superstructures. Here, we see a lone lamppost on the street's kerb, a green waste bin and an overgrown lot where weeds are thriving in this wilderness. In the background is a generic two-storey building left unfinished. As of 2010, it has a population of 2,068 inhabitants.

 • A pair of womens' red shoes have been left on a white wall in south London. With rough plaster on the top of the wall and weeds growing at the foot of the dividing section of cement, the red shows look like Judy Garland's Dorothy's shoes in the Wizard of Oz movie. There is also a tradition of film titles, music and a fairy tale by Hand Christian Anderson that are inspired by Red Shoes as a cultural theme.

 • A deserted landscape of a street and overgrown paths and empty housing in the former Russian Soviet army camp in occupied East Germany ex-GDR/DDR, on 16th June 19990, on Halb Insel Wustrow, near Rostock, Germany. Wustrow was once a WW2 German anti-aircraft artillery position then housing civilian refugees before the eventual Soviet occupation of the former DDR during the Cold War, up until 1990 and the fall of communism and the Berlin Wall. The camp was ransacked and all its assets stripped before its desertion that summer and is a reminder of a fallen ideology.

 • Traditional houseboats on the backwaters as Kerala, India

The Kerala backwaters are a chain of brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast (known as the Malabar Coast) of Kerala state in southern India. The network includes five large lakes linked by canals, both manmade and natural, fed by 38 rivers, and extending virtually half the length of Kerala state. The backwaters were formed by the action of waves and shore currents creating low barrier islands across the mouths of the many rivers flowing down from the Western Ghats range.
The Kerala Backwaters are a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes and inlets, a labyrinthine system formed by more than 900 km of waterways, and sometimes compared to the American Bayou.[1] In the midst of this landscape there are a number of towns and cities, which serve as the starting and end points of backwater cruises

This includes improving farm management, reducing their use of pesticides and fertilizers, and increasing yields. Smallholders account for 40% of global palm oil production, and as such play an important role in increasing sustainability within the industry.
