  • Lone woman with a lamp post shadow against a grey construction hoarding in central London's Trafalgar Square. Painting work is being carried out to the street lighting lamp post, a green plastic fence surrounding the wet paint while the post's upright has created a strong linear theme to the pavement and background hoarding that screens other work.

  • Striding across the picture in different directions, two office workers: A lady in a red coat whose head and identity is lost in shadow, and a man wearing a dark suit whose stride is purposeful and confident. A third person, another man, leans against a wall looking thoughtfully into the distance. There is more shadow than highlight in this scene taken at Broadgate, a private estate of financial institutions and global businesses in the heart of the City of London. There are no spring leaves on the trees whose shadows are falling on an opposite wall. The headless lady looks sinister minus her face and there is tension in this image of linear and diagonal space. The City of London has a resident population of under 10,000 but a daily working population of 311,000. The City of London is a geographically-small City within Greater London, England. The City as it is known, is the historic core of London from which, along with Westminster, the modern conurbation grew. The City's boundaries have remained constant since the Middle Ages but it is now only a tiny part of Greater London. The City of London is a major financial centre, often referred to as just the City or as the Square Mile, as it is approximately one square mile (2.6 km) in area. London Bridge's history stretches back to the first crossing over Roman Londinium, close to this site and subsequent wooden and stone bridges have helped modern London become a financial success.

  • Seen from a high walkway above, we see an aerial landscape of city road markings and roundabout junction. As pedestrians walk-by, a licensed black taxi cab has parked on the edge of a mini roundabout, awaiting a named passenger to emerge from a nearby office - the person's name is written on a board hanging from the vehicle's window. The curves and linear landscape of this cityscape, arc into the distance and Corporation of London bollards are freshly painted.

  • Aerial landscape of road diversion sign and road triangle markings. This is a detail of street and road markings, the geometry of shapes and linear design with the triangular points meeting at a diagonal post, the parallel lines in the road and the arrow of a diversion sign. The street is in Waterloo, called The Cut in the borough of Lambeth.

  • London bus passenger waits at a Waterloo bus stop. Seen from the top deck of a London double-decker bus, we look down to the linear patterns on the ground where a lone passenger awaits another service in central London. The red bench she sits on is the only prime colour in this aerial scene.

  • A street theme of road marking and another yellow arrow on a central London wall. The urban landscape is seen on a wet day in the capital where arrows are the repeating theme on the road surface and pavement. Yellow lines disappear down a narrow lane, turning around the corner and out of sight. On the otherwise wet and dark day, the colours are vibrant and highly visible.

  • Woman pedestrian walks past bent railings in a London street. In a perfectly-timed picture, the lady strides past the damaged railings, twisted by a vehicle, perhaps - or by someone with strong tools. Her legs are perfectly aligned with the angle of bent steel uprights - now reshaped into diagonals. The street is underoing massive change due to the capital's Crossrail project where pedestrian disruption actually encourages people to walk a shorter route in the road, rather than the safer pavement.

  • The outline of electricity cables stretch across a gloomy winter sky in woodland near Wrington, North Somerset England. Diagonally, the cables travel across the picture but they are part of a line of L6 pylons that have already crossed many miles of South-West England's countryside, carrying 40,000 Volts along this network of aluminium cables to power some of Bristol's high supply demands. In the foreground we see the bare boughs and branches of trees creating a Sci-Fi scene of ugly 21st technology versus the beauty of nature. Insatiable appetites for raw power and energy means electricity is now an expensive comodity after climbing oil prices doubled electricity utility bills for some domestic users.

A mudbrick is a brick, made of a mixture of loam, mud, sand and water mixed with a binding material such as rice husks or straw. In Ancient Egypt, workers gathered mud from the Nile river, and then dug a pit and poured the mud in. They then tramped on the mud while straw was added to solidify the mold.

All Hallows-by-the-Tower, also previously dedicated to St. Mary the Virgin[1] and sometimes known as All Hallows Barking, is an ancient Anglican church on Byward Street in the City of London, overlooking the Tower of London. Founded in 675, it is one of the oldest churches in London, and contains inside a 7th-century Saxon arch with recycled Roman tiles, the oldest surviving piece of church fabric in the city. (St. Pancras Parish Church in King's Cross has been a place of Christian worship since the sixth century.)

It is also the third busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic, handling more international passengers than any other airport around the globe.
